What kinds of projects are eligible?
You may apply here for a cultural project, which is a stand-alone artistic-substantive activity in the field of the arts. The project must be carried out by one or more professional artists. There is a separate scheme for the amateur arts.
How will my application be evaluated?
The following criteria are important when we evaluate an application:
- Artistic quality
Here, areas such as craftsmanship, expression and originality are assessed.
- Commercial quality
Does the project have a realistic budget? Has the applicant demonstrated sufficient organisational capacity to carry out the project? Does the project have a realistic mix of revenue sources? Are the budgetary expenses well justified? Does the organisation use fair cultural business practices and maintain social sustainability while being a good employer?
- Audience reach
What are the project’s audience objectives and how many visitors does it hope to reach? Is this a (culturally) diverse audience? Is there broad support or interest in the project?
- Importance to the city of Amsterdam
Does the project contribute to the geographical spread the city's cultural activities and audience reach? How does the project relate to other (similar) offerings and initiatives in the city Amsterdam? Does the project have added value?
For more information about these criteria, please read Project Subsidies for the Professional Arts Scheme and the Explanatory Notes on the Project Subsidies for the Professional Arts Scheme and the Guidlines When Applying for Project Subsidies for the Professional Arts Scheme.
