Martijn van Arkel

Martijn van Arkel (1998) is a writer and performer. He graduated from the writing program at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Together with his brother, Jeroen van Arkel, he reached the finals of the Amsterdam Cabaret Festival with Our Father, a performance about their father, a reverend. In 2025, he placed second at the Dutch Championships Poetry Slam. His work has appeared in, among others, Hard//hoofd, De Optimist, and Op Ruwe Planken. Alongside his work as a writer, he also works as a primary school teacher.
